What's worth emailing about

Anything below gets a real answer.

A number you think is wrong

The most useful email you can send. Include your inputs and what you expected — every calculation on this site traces back to a published OPM formula, so a mismatch is either a bug worth fixing or an assumption worth documenting.

A calculator that doesn't exist yet

There are 34 tools hereand most of them started as someone's question. If the decision you're weighing isn't covered, say which one.

How something is calculated

The methodology pageshows every formula and its OPM source. If it doesn't answer your question, that's a gap in the documentation and worth telling us about.

Press, partnerships, and corrections

Including anything you'd want cited or verified before publishing.

What we can't do

Not hedging — these are genuine limits, and pretending otherwise would make the rest of the site less trustworthy.

  • Telling you when to retire, or which election to make — that's a decision for you and, if you want one, a licensed fee-only advisor.
  • Confirming your official service computation date, creditable service, or annuity. Only OPM and your agency HR can do that.
  • Anything that needs your SSN, login credentials, or account numbers. Don't send those; we don't want them and won't ask.
