What's new at FedHorizon

Dated updates to the Federal Retirement Decision Report and the free calculators — newest first.

July 26, 2026

Interactive lifetime income chart, milestone tracker, and smarter tax estimates

The lifetime income chart now has a real-vs-nominal toggle and a slider to check your cumulative income at any age. Added a milestone progress tracker (MRA, MRA+10, MRA+30, 60+20, 62+5), historical average returns by TSP fund next to the projection assumptions, and a state-of-residence field that flags whether your state fully exempts federal pension income.

July 25, 2026

Combined net income estimate

The report now estimates your combined net monthly income — pension, TSP draw, and Social Security together, net of estimated federal tax and FEHB — instead of pension income alone.

July 18, 2026

TSP projections now include your future contributions

Previously the TSP balance projection only compounded your current balance. It now also grows your ongoing employee and agency contributions to retirement, across all three allocation scenarios.

July 11, 2026

Independent accuracy audit added to every report

Every report is now checked against an independent, OPM-formula-based audit covering pension, supplement, TSP, survivor election, and military buyback calculations before it's delivered.

June 28, 2026

15 free calculators and guide articles

Added the full set of free federal-benefits calculators — MRA, GS Pay, TSP Contribution, High-3, FERS Supplement, COLA, FEGLI, VERA/VSIP, Survivor Benefit, Roth vs. Traditional TSP, FEHB in Retirement, Deferred vs. Postponed, Take-Home Pay, WGI, and Military Buyback — each paired with a guide article.

Federal Retirement Decision Report launched

The flagship report launched: side-by-side pension and income projections at three retirement ages, survivor election cost, FEHB eligibility, and a full assumptions/methodology section — delivered as an advisor-shareable PDF.

May 9, 2026

Three-Legged Stool income modeling

The report now models FERS pension, Social Security, and TSP drawdown together across your actual planned claiming age, instead of each leg in isolation.
